The February Pet of the Month nod goes to this cute little pony - Henry! Henry is a rescue pony my trainer bought a couple years ago, and is a barn favorite amongst all. Long story short - Henry wasn’t looking to live much past 2 years off in the conditions he was in, and thanks to my trainer and the love and care he has received at our barn, he is now living his best life ever!
Henry is about 6 years old this year, and gets worked every week, tons of cuddles and treats, and even showed for his first time ever last year! He loves to jump and ultimately get rewarded with hugs. He is the perfect example of why we need to rescue — because these animals deserve and want a better life too. They are SO capable of everything your pure-bred $$$ horse (or any other animal really) can do, and even if they aren’t as fancy they will try their hearts out to make you happy and proud.
For anybody in the equestrian world looking to adopt or rescue a horse, I strongly encourage looking into it! If you don’t know where to start, please contact me — I am familiar with a lot of places all across the United States that can get you help :)
