Lately I’ve been trying to find some healthier go-to ingredients when cooking or baking, and my most recent kick is using honey! Here’s where I have been trying to introduce honey more in as a substitute ingredient:
Instead of any kind of sugar in cooking/baking
Molasses
Syrups
Artificial sweetener
Benefits of honey:
Helps lower cholesterol
Helps lower blood pressure
Good for menstrual cramps when heated up
Boost of energy
Rich in anti-oxidants
Great for a chest cold
Finding a good honey option isn’t hard — with so many stores and even local businesses providing organic solutions and options that are made straight from their backyards. But even if you start with the simple Honey Bear, it’s a start! I definitely recommend swapping out some of the massive sugar options when you cook/bake next for some honey instead, and become a believer yourself in this go-to ingredient :)
